Capitol Hill, a different perspective!

I seem to be going in this strange tangent these days, but it's forced me to look at a lot of things around me from a different perspective. Aren't we all but like them, winning our individual battles, fighting for our own little territory, blasting sanguine fury and roaring at the skies.

Spartans, us all!!!

And this is Capitol Hill, DC, from that frame of thought!

A new year, a new location, a new website. In an ongoing effort to encourage the Gemini in me, I am welcoming change and have moved to a new website.

I love this... the way the clouds and trees seem to circle the dome... is it ominous or is it protective?

@Kim: It's a little bit of both, I guess. Much like parents. Protective and yet with enough room to breath. Oh sorry about that dry humor :)

Great analogy and a fine shot. Hard to believe but I was at a conference in DC once and one of it's social functions was in that building. A fine piece of architecture, but the tour guide indicated that it's always under construction. This was before Sept 11th and I'm sure since then entry to that structure is extremely restricted. Nice area down monument and museum row. Nice shot, well taken and a big piece of US history.

@The Big Guy: That is true. Right now, entry to a lot of these great buildings is restricted and based on appointments booked months in advance. Would love to see it from the inside someday. But till then, it lives on in my memories.

This is fabulous! The massive contrast between light and dark without losing the detail, somehow you have managed to get a well balanced frame.

@Curly: The pristine white of the building itself was the inspiration behind this contrast. And moreover, the dark areas definitely helped me in getting rid of a few heads that popped up in the frame :)

I love the way it's composed. Your eyes are led towards the building with its deep contrast against its surrounding.
